WESTPORT, Conn. – More than a dozen people turned out at Christ & Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday to scrub pots, pans and utensils salvaged from the fire-damaged Saugatuck Congregational Church.
These items will be used to prepare the annual Saugatuck Church community Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, which has been moved to Christ & Holy Trinity, 75 Church Lane.
The three-hour pot-washing event was organized by Westport Boy Scout Troop 100.
Although some pots, pans and utensils were salvaged, the church is need of other supplies that were lost in Sunday night's fire. To make a donation to the church, send a check to 245 Post Road E. with "feast" listed in the memo field.
